WEBSITE

As the initial set up for a web site is time consuming, a minimum non-refundable deposit of $100 is required. Depending on size, once all the information has been received, sites are generally finished within one week. On completion of your site the outstanding balance is required within 7 days. Your counter and email contact address may not be included on the site until final payment is made. If you require your website up and running within days, this can be organised but may incur an additional fee.

I use only tried and tested web hosts for my sites, however I am not responsible for any losses incurred in the event of a server being temporarily unavailable.

While Alba Websites will do their utmost to remind clients of their domain name expiry dates, as this generally falls at the same time that annual maintenance is due, it is primarily the client's responsibility to ensure their domain name is renewed each two years.

MAINTENANCE

New websites often require more tweaking and updating during the first year, so your initial website payment covers UNLIMITED FREE maintenance for 12 months.

From then on we can discuss with you the best method of keeping your website up-to-date. Options are :

1) If you have your own hosting account using CPanel, you can maintain it yourself. Text changes would require basic ability, although changes to graphics would require some expertise.

2) We maintain it for you, at a fee of $50 per hour paid in advance

or to keep it really simple, and one that most clients opt for is:

3) An annual maintenance fee charged on each anniversary of your site. This is one-quarter of the initial cost of of your website (not including domain name and hosting). i.e. If you have a site costing $800 the maintenance fee of $200 is due on the first anniversary of the launch of your site. This maintenance fee allows for a further 12 months of updates as per the paragraph above. Updates and additions include minor text changes and swapping of photos.   It does not include a complete remake/overhaul of your site or additional pages.  Depending on how much updating you require, this option usually works out much cheaper than pay-as-you-go.

Should you have NO changes to your site from one year to the next, and you are hosting your own files, there is no charge. (This is at the discretion of Alba Websites and will be based on our web update logs)

If we're hosting your files for you (for free) and you have no updates for 12 months, only a small $40 annual fee will be charged to cover hosting and file storage. 

Over a period of time these fees may rise to keep pace with inflation. Any price rise will be kept to a minimum and will not exceed one-quarter of the current cost of setting up a similar sized website.  (See below for details of our Loyalty Program which can save you dollars off your maintenance fee).

Either party reserves the right to terminate the agreement at any time. If terminated prior to the anniversary of the site, no refund will be paid.

SEARCH ENGINES

After completion, I will optimise your site using keywords and metatags, which can help your rankings with search engines. I'll submit your site to major search engines, however, I cannot guarantee where or when your site will be listed. I will also supply information on search engine submission to assist you with ongoing submissions as necessary.

LOYALTY PROGRAM

By recommending Alba Websites to your friends and colleagues, you can earn credits towards your annual maintenance fee.   For each recommendation that results in a fully paid website of $350 or more, you will receive a 10% credit off your annual maintenance fee.   Conditions are:

1) ANY NEW CLIENT MUST STATE THAT YOU HAVE RECOMMENDED THEM, SO MAKE SURE TO TELL THEM TO MENTION YOUR NAME

2) YOU WILL BE EMAILED A CLAIM VOUCHER. SAVE THIS ELECTRONICALLY, AS IT MUST BE SENT BACK TO ALBA WEBSITES PRIOR TO PAYING YOUR ANNUAL MAINTENANCE. AN ADJUSTED INVOICE WILL THEN BE FORWARDED TO YOU FOR YOUR RECORDS AND FOR PAYMENT. IT IS CLIENT'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CLAIM THE CREDIT.

3) CREDIT CAN ONLY BE USED AGAINST YOUR MAINTENANCE FEE AND MUST BE CLAIMED WITHIN 12 MONTHS.

4) NO CASH WILL BE PAID.

5) IF YOU DO A REALLY GREAT JOB AND RECOMMEND SO MANY PEOPLE THAT IT RESULTS IN YOU GETTING MORE CREDIT THAN YOUR MAINTENANCE FEE IS WORTH, YOU'LL GET A REALLY BIG THANK YOU AND A CHRISTMAS CARD, BUT YOU WON'T GET ADDITONAL CASH AND ANY ADDITIONAL CREDITS OVER AND ABOVE THE COST OF YOUR MAINTENANCE FEE WILL NOT BE ROLLED OVER TO THE FOLLOWING YEAR.

6 ) TO QUALIFY FOR A CREDIT, ANY NEW RECOMMENDED CLIENT'S WEBSITE MUST BE A MINIMUM COST OF $350
