In 1920 renowned landscape architect Edna Walling purchased the first 1.2ha of what would eventually become her 8.5ha village of Bickleigh Vale.

Memories of her childhood in England, of stone buildings, meandering country lanes and rambling woods, influenced her designs and lends a touch of "old England" to this exclusive area.
